A PERVERSE DOLL LIVING IN A CASTLE

Hair was critical to explore from the start, starting with collaging with materials and toiles in my bedroom.
From my images I then collaged in photoshop and then fed it into a generative AI model.

Using KREA AI to generate uncannilly familiar faces

“A Perverse Doll Living in a Castle” is a semi-digital, semi-physical collection created for my minor at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. I created 6 looks digitally using Clo3d, Blender, Adobe Substance Painter, and Photoshop. One look I created in real life, using patchworked-together secondhand fur scraps and over 600 hand-painted, hand-decorated fake nails.

My starting point for the project was my fascination with the uncanniness of how AI depicts women & femininity. From there I launched into a deep exploration and eventual artistic critique through an involved, experimental process. I developed a new image-making technique that involves collaging between photoshop, blender-renders, and KREA AI.

Please flip through my collection book (above) in chronological order to explore the collection further.
